Hello
Daniella Ochman is an actress from Durham, North Carolina. Graduating in the spring of 2023, she received her BFA in Acting at Howard University in Washington, DC.
My Story
Daniella Ochman is an actress who hails from the historic city of Durham, North Carolina. She was always a quiet young girl who would much rather listen to others that speak. That knack for observation and listening propelled her into many fields. Daniella's first love was basketball. She loved to train with her father on their cement driveway, practicing until it became too dark to see the ball. She dreamt of playing on her middle school team and one day playing in the WNBA. During these foundational years she also picked up Tae Kwon Do, where she trained for over five years, earning her brown belt. A turn of events came when Daniella found her love for the arts through music when she began playing violin at the age of five. At the age of eleven, she began to find her voice and became an ambassador for her middle school's International Baccalaureate Program. Daniella was able to break out of her quiet shell and found a love for interacting with people on a personal level.
While Daniella was waiting for the opportunity to try out for the basketball team, she was pointed in the direction of theatre to occupy her time. She attended her local high school's production of Westside Story and the rest was history. Daniella fell in love with storytelling and the ability to captivate an audience. It was in that moment that Daniella decided that she wanted to take the chance of committing to the arts. She skipped basketball tryouts, to her coach's dismay, and auditioned for her first production at her local high school. Daniella continued to perform in over twenty-five plays at her local high school from the age of eleven to eighteen.

Now, Daniella is an undergraduate student studying the craft of acting in hopes to one day share truthful and visceral stories with the world. Despite her long history in theatre, Daniella has branched out to find work in film and television. She has had the opportunity to work on Netflix and HBO sets as an extra and specialty driver, as well as star in multiple short films in the DMV area. Her goals are to one day own her own production company where she can create work with artists who believe in authenticity and having fun. She would also love to create a financial literacy program that promotes financial understanding within minority communities. Daniella wants to bridge the gap between minority groups and art. One thing that she believes will help is making art that is "by us, for us, about us, and near us". This is a principle that W.E.B. Du Bois created with the aim of making art that was created by black people, for an audience of black people, about black people, and accessible to black people. There is a history of theatre, film, and television being catered to white people and she wants to be a facilitator of positive change.
